Tale of Two Halfs

Sixers get their doors blown off by Pistons in second half

For the first half it appeared the Sixers were one game away from sticking a knife into the vampire's heart. The Sixers were up by 10 at the half and we were almost ready to say goodbye to the Pistons.

For one half.

And, then the Pistons made some adjustments and beat the living hell out of the Sixers in the second half to the tune of outscoring them 34-16 in the 3rd quarter and that was all they needed.

The Sixers were even up by 14 at one point, but the Pistons figured the Sixers out again.

One thing is sure each team knows how to beat the other one. They both have each other figured out. The Pistons know if they can play their half court game and stymie them, they'll dominate. And, if the Sixers run up and down the floor their combination of youth and quickness on defense will trump their experience.

I really think the Sixers have a shot at winning this series. They need to come back in game 5 and just start with the run and gun and play ball hawking defense and get a huge lead after three quarters. If they do that, they'll win.

They will have no chance by getting into a half-court game with this squad. It's like trying to box with Mike Tyson back in '86. You just can't do it.

Andy Says...

For those of you who don't like the fact that the Eagles traded out of the first round again and didn't move Lito like they said they would Andy Reid has some choice words for you.

"I can understand that," Andy Reid said. "There are people who are going to criticize. There are going to be some who like it and some who don't.

No, I didn't make that quote up. That's what Andy Reid said in regards to the criticism over the team's draft. Gee, no shit Andy? Do you think there's people who will like it and some who won't. Why don't you tell us the sun will shine on some days and it will be cloudy on others.

Seriously though, what would you expect? Would you expect Andy Reid to say, "they can blow me because I know more than they do." That would be funny if he did, but this isn't the bizarro world.

Tom Heckert was just on with Glen and The Cuz on WIP and said not to expect a move for wide receiver. Another quote machine, Heckert wouldn't tell you they were getting a wide receiver even if it were formally announced on ESPN. He'd deny up until the press conference.

What I will say is a quality source of mine says we should expect some good news soon on the Boldin front. Could the Eagles be using that #1 pick next year and Lito to make it happen?

Stay tuned. I'll stay on top of this story.
