Close, But No Cigar

Flyers lose 4-3 in OT after holding 3-2 lead towards end of 3rd period

The Flyers were heavy underdog heading into their second round matchup against the Canadiens and the hockey Gods smiled upon them in the first period.

The Flyers had this game...almost. They were up 3-2 with just under 40 seconds remaining and then Saiko Koivu ruined their night by tying the game 3-3 and sending it to overtime.

Barely 40 seconds into OT the Canadiens won the game 4-3. Oh, what could have been. Had the Flyers stolen a game on the road, this could have gone a very long way.

Biron played an excellent game, but the defense just couldn't hold down the fort towards the end of the contest.
