Let's Get Ready To Rumble

Phillies and Mets set to face off today

Ah, it's that time of the year. The Phillies and Mets are set to duke it out for the first time this season at 1:10.

It's slowly becoming one of the best rivalries in baseball and while it probably won't ever equal the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, it could certainly rival it.

Carlos Beltran chucked the first molotov cocktail over the fence this year by stating that Santana made the Mets the team to beat. Jimmy Rollins countered by saying they would win 100 games.

It's fun to see both sides going back and forth; it's really what makes brings out the most fun in sports. It shows that players care as much as the fans because in this day and age it's becoming more apparent that many players look at it as a job like we view our daily jobs and they walk away when the season is over as the fans suffer.

Pat Burrell is starting out like a house on fire this season with a .450 average and 3 dingers and 9 RBI in the first 7 games. He is a Met killer in his career with 41 homers and 102 RBI against them in his career. He is the key to this series.

The Phils get off easy by not facing Santana and Pedro-well he's on the fritz for a month and a half so we needn't worry about him either.

Look for the Phils get back to .500 and take at least 2 of 3 from them this week.

Oliver Perez will go up against Jamie Moyer today at 1:10.
