Role Reversal

Pistons get romped by Sixers at the Wach

The Sixers have done the unthinkable and that's not just beat the Pistons tonight, but beat the living daylights out of them. Normally this is something that would happen to a Philly team. They come into the series a huge favorite and end up getting bush whacked. Sound familiar? Cough, cough...Eagles!

Well, the tables have turned tonight as the Sixers have won 95-75.

After winning by a whopping 20 points they now hold a 2-1 lead in this best of seven series.

And, they did it with defense. Andre Iguodala didn't even have to show up tonight (which he didn't) because Sammy D and Reggie Evans laid down the law on defense.

Samuel Dalembert if you remember had a great series against Detroit three years ago when he averaged double doubles in each game, but tonight was a huge step forward. He had 22 points, 16 rebounds, and a pair of blocks and looked every bit the part of a franchise center tonight.

At one point the Pistons missed 17 shots in a row over the course of 13 minutes. I even began to feel sorry for the Pistons and then I realized this was the same team that has knocked the Sixers out in their past two playoff appearances.

Great win for the Sixers. The pressure is now on Detroit to win 3 of the next 4 games. Can they do it? Of course, but the Sixers aren't going to go quietly in this series and that has to be the biggest surprise so far in the NBA playoffs because nobody including myself thought the Sixers could actually win this series.
