Broken?

Phillies mired at .500 as reports surface about Rollins' ankle being broken

Looks like the Phillies are playing another game of misinformation when it comes to a player's injury.

Jimmy Rolins it turns out may have a broken bone in his ankle. This is a far cry from the "sprain" that the Phillies said would keep him out 2-3 games. And, then they trotted him out there during a horrid 2-week span as he struggled to run down the baseline during pinch-hit at-bats. And, after letting that drag on they decided to put him on the DL.

Now, it could be even worse. The Phillies are of course denying this story.

And, while I'm on the Phillies about their mishandling of this. How pathetic are they that they're calling up the likes of Brad Harman when they're leaving Greg Golson to sit in the minors as he's hitting well over .300 and more than qualified to be up in the majors at this point-at least to be on the bench. Meanwhile, Harman was barely hitting over the mendoza line in AAA!

It's pretty obvious that they're leaving him down there so he doesn't accrue major league service time because then he will have to wait another year to become arbitration-eligible and to get paid more when he finally does reach the majors.

Sound familiar?

They did this to Ryan Howard a few years back when Jim Thome was hurt and when they needed him. Meanwhile, they kept Howard in the minors as long as possible before calling him up.

Just another example of carpetbagging by the Phils' ownershit.
