Stumblin' N' Bumblin'

Kendrick gets pounded and Phils commit 4 errors in ugly loss

I'll admit it. Yesterday I was starting to believe in this team. They were 4-4 and on the heels of a 2-game winning streak and they have absolutely owned the Mets recently.

Last night, the combination of missing Jimmy Rollins and a poor pitching performance resulted in an 8-2 disaster.

But now, I'm thinking they'll probably be a .500 team in April, which is better than they've fared in recent years so I'll take what I can get.

Kyle Kendrick was brutal, giving up 7 runs and less than 3 innings. Looks like he's gonna have a sophomore slump this season.

Jimmy Rollins' replacement Eric Bruntlett played like he never played shortstop in the majors before.

So far this season they've committed 13 errors, which puts them at the top of the heap in the majors in that category.

So, will the Phillies continue the same pattern and lose today? So far this season they've lost 2, won 2, lost 2, won 2, and lost. With Adam Eaton on the hill my guess is the pattern continues.

Despite all of their pitching woes, defensive blunders, and offensive inconsistencies they are still 4-5. Now, that's probably the biggest surprise so far this season.

McNabb preaches patience

With the Eagles failing to land a #1 wideout McNabb says to be patient.

"It's a growing process," said McNabb, who spoke last night at Syracuse University. "We haven't brought in a receiver or anything on offense, but on defense, we've definitely filled some holes and added some more playmakers."

Tell that to the millions of Eagles fans and those of us who've been waiting for a championship since 1983. That's ownership-speak and something I wouldn't expect out of McNabb. I like what I've been hearing from him in terms of stepping up to the front office, but a statement like that tells us to be satisfied with the status quo on offense, which just won't cut it.

Patterson unlikely to face league discipline

The marijuana charge against Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson was dropped yesterday. Looks like he won't face any discipline from the league.

Good news for Eagles fans and better news for him. Next time you decide to toke up Mike, do it in the comfort of your home.
