Redemption

Phils and Sixers win on same night

One day after a horrific day that began with the sad news of the passing of John Marzano, a Flyers loss, and a Phillies loss the Philly teams redeemed themselves.

The Sixers pulled off the unthinkable last night by storming back from 13-down to take down the Pistons. Nobody saw this one coming especially considering that the Sixers lost 4 straight and 8 of 11 down the stretch and they were 13 down at the half!

And, the Phillies capped off the evening with a comeback win of their own over the hated New York Mutts.

And, of all people to save the game Eric Bruntlett came up with a Jimmy Rollins-like diving play and one-hop throw to first base. Bruntlett, the oft-maligned replacement for Jimmy Rollins redeemed himself in one play last night.

The game was over and this win would've made Johnny Marz proud.

It's an exciting time of the year for us since all four teams are active and three of the four are playing. The Eagles are now the fourth fiddle and can't be happy with that, so that leads me to believe they have something up their sleeve for this Saturday's NFL Draft.

Word was coming out yesterday that the Eagles and Jets were in talks to swap 2nd round picks and Lito Sheppard would go to the Jets for former 4th overall pick, defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson. So far, nothing else has transpired and it's just a rumor. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported it, so there has to be some validity to it.

Tonight it's the Flyers' turn as they will look to knock out the Capitals. They must win tonight because if this series goes a 7th game, then we'll be talking about next year for the Fly guys.
