One Step Closer

One Step Closer

Flyers defeat the Rangers in overtime to make it one step further to the playoffs

Don't look now, but your Philadelphia Flyers are on a roll again. They have now strung off four consecutive wins and each of the wins have been dramatic.

They didn't dissapoint again in the drama department last night, winning 2-1 in overtime.

The Flyers are now 7th place in the Eastern Conference with 88 points and are 4 points ahead of the Washington Capitals, with just 3 games to go. You can all but count them in. It would take two losses by the Flyers and two wins for the Capitals to tie them. So, the Flyers control their own destiny.

Briere has been rejuvenated with the addition of Vinny Prospal; the two have combined for 11 goals over the past 13 contests. Prospal has filled in admirably for Gagne and you can chalk this up to GM Paul Holmgren for getting somebody in here to help Briere.

Looks like we'll have both of our winter sports team in the playoffs. And, that hasn't happened in two years for the Flyers and it's been three years since the 6ers have made it to the postseason.

Reason #1 why I hope the Cowboys sign Pacman Jones

He is planning on having a Grey Goose party if he gets reinstated. And, this fool was quoted as saying, he'll let it rain.

What a complete ass. And, for those who say the Eagles should go after him. Are you kidding me? Do you see how much thugging out goes on in Philly. I predict if the Eagles were to sign him, the murder rate would increase 10 percent!

Big shakeups at 610 WIP

Mid-day host Steve Martorano was on for the last time yesterday and today Glen Macnow is doing the midday show. Looks like Anthony Gargano will join Eskin in the afternoons.

This looks like a response to 950 AM's move to put Mike Missanelli (recently hired from ESPN) on against Eskin at 3-7.

Personally, I like Macnow in the evenings and will miss hearing him as much since I can only listen briefly during the day at work. I think Eskin could handle Missanelli on his own, but it will be interesting to hear he and "The Cuz" work together.
