Looking the Part

Looking the Part

Sixers win 4th straight game in win over the Bucks today

Don't look now, but your Philadelphia 76ers are nearly a 6th seed. They are now sitting with a 30-33 record

If they get over .500 this would mark the first time they'll have been over .500 this deep in the season since late in Mo Cheeks' first season when they were 30-28 on March 3rd. They then went on to finish the season with an 8-16 record.

Yes it's been two years since the Sixers have been over .500 this late in the year.

This team is for real. I'm on board after watching this team grow. Sure, I was on the "just tank it baby" bandwagon during January when this team was in the toilet. Of course, they were a bad team back then. And, something clicked since then. They have been on a tear since they started off 2008 in such horrid fashion. They are now 12-3 since February 5th.

And, today they blew through yet another team they were supposed to beat. The Bucks do stink, but they're a team the Sixers should beat and beat them they did. They shot a season-high 60.3 percent en route to a 119-97 victory.

This team is in the position they're in because of Mo Cheeks' ability to adapt to Eddy Stefanski's system and his point guard's play. Andre Miller and Mo Cheeks deserve much of the credit for the renaissance of this team.

And, I'm a believer now. I think this team could win a round in the playoffs with the way they're playing. They're playing as good as nearly any team in the East. Right now they're the third best team behind Boston and Detroit on the basis of how they've performed over the past month.
