Facing Elimination

Will Kimo Timmonen give the Flyers the lift they need to win game 5?

On paper the Flyers have everything going against them today. The Penguins have won 15 straight games dating back to February 24th at "The Igloo." But, all trends are meant to come to an end.

On the flip side, Philadelphia teams have gone an abominable 24 years and 352 days without a championship and one of these years the worm will have to turn in favor of one of these teams.

The Flyers will get a huge lift with Kimo Timmonen back in the lineup today, who will without a doubt be the man to cover Malkin. And, you have to figure this will be an emotional lift to the Flyers as well.

Even at that, this isn't just your run of the mill team that the Flyers are playing. This is a team that's on the verge of making it's first of many runs at a Stanley Cup and one who will fight tooth and nail to knock out the Flyers today.

We will certainly see a competitive matchup today and one more along the lines of game four and even if the Flyers play their A-game the Penguins will throw the everything and the kitchen sink at the Fly guys.

Brayden Coburn is still out, but is hopeful for game six if the Flyers win today.

Remember, the Eagles had a streak against Tampa Bay heading into the 2003 NFC Championship and Tampa Bay had only won one game in it's history in games below 40 degrees.

And, we know how "The Debacle I" ended.

T-minus 10 minutes until game time.
